"JoAnna Lynne"

Her resume emphasizes her pinball life with singing being the most consistent factor. With a slight country twang, joy of life, and sincere purpose, JoAnna is a folk rocker of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

With an infectious smile, her own label, Flutter Records, and a Gibson acoustic guitar, JoAnna wants to perform for the biggest audiences possible, as often as possible. An entertainer since childhood, then a Berklee music student, JoAnna is performing the East Coast as a singer-songwriter, and with her band of two girls and a guy.

"Michelle Mangione"

This is the first podcast I've done where I haven't chatted at least once on the phone with the featured folk rock artist.

As I was working and sorting through the podcast submissions...and feeling more like an A&R mail room clerk... I remembered why I started these folk rock podcasts: I want to make friends and connections with other folk rock artists. Our goal in featuring "the best and the brightest of today's folk rock artists" is to finally establish folk rock as a current genre.

Folk rock faded into history in the early 70s as concerts became bigger and bigger and folk rock looked smaller and smaller...

The cycle has returned back to folk artists and the audiences wanting more "truth" than stage flares. I hope to set up FOLK ROCK TOURS around the country and weave together many of these folk rock artists I am discovering and promoting with these podcasts. Wow. Maybe even world tours. California, Nashville, and New York, are no longer the hubs of the musical universe as we all connect and promote and release our products on the internet.

It's a new world. It's a new folk rock. But it's got that same concern and hopefullness that those frustrated hippies and peace-love-junkies put into their music in the late sixties and early seventies.

Michelle is a time traveller from that peace-love period that spawned that musical genre we decided to call, "folk rock."

"DownTown Mystic"

This was a fun podcast. I had to squeeze it into the Christmas festivities and then wait another two weeks to edit it. What made it fun was listening to the podcast songs, and looking over to see my daughter tapping her foot just like me to the music of DownTown Mystic.

Thanks guys!

www.SonicBids.com/

BIOGRAPHY:

DownTown Mystic started as a side project for Sha-La prez Robert Allen while working with his artists.

Veteran tastemaker, Jed The Fish, would play the track "Lost & Found" off of an Industry compilation cd as his "Catch of The Day" on "World Famous" KROQ in LA, one of the most influential modern rock stations. This would lead to some national airplay. When the "Mayor of The Sunset Strip", legendary KROQ DJ Rodney Bingenheimer, played another track, "Brian Jones",

Robert decided to give DownTown Mystic more of a group identity by enlisting the talents of singer/songwriter Bruce Engler.

Robert and Bruce are joined by a host of other talented musicians on "Rock'nRoll 4 The Soul", including one of the great rhythm sections in the history of American Rock'n'Roll--Garry Tallent & Max Weinberg of the E Street Band.

The just completed "Read The Signs" features Paul McCartney/Wings drummer Steve Holley and journeyman/urban legend, Paul Page on Bass.

Featured Album This Show: Eloquent Cool

"Man At The Crossroads"

David Courtenay is a Santa Barbara college actor with great songs who is currently performing southern California clubs and bookstores. His insightful lyrics that detail his spiritual quest include youthful songs that question the meaning of life.

David Courtenay is a man at the crossroads who is choosing between his acting career or music career. Academics or night clubs. As a performer he is also choosing guitar over piano...

With many choices and many good songs, David is making the transition from a "cover artist" who performs other people's music, to a singer songwriter with his own unique identity and music career.

Coyote leads this radio show on a tour of David Courtenay's SonicBids.com EPK website:   www.SonicBids.com

"Pop Folk Rock," is what Coyote calls it in the broadcast. Encouraging David to not be a "cover band" anymore and focus on his own songs.

What do you think? What should he do? Join Coyote and David Courtenay in this "Man At The Crossroads" podcast finding his sound, finding his style...will it be folk rock?

Featured Band: Dennis Logan
Band Website: http://www.dennisloganband.com
Band Record Label: Blue Toad Records
Record Label Website:
Newest Album Release: To be released February 2008

Featured Album This Show: Rough Mixes of upcoming album.

As a kid he was inspired by Johnny Cash. His country roots led him to Nashville where he pursued a songwriting career. Hooking up with lyricist, Larry Lind, Dennis has worked hard to create compelling songs that range from country music, to folk ballads, and rock'n'roll with a dash of gospel.

In my phone discussions with Dennis he revealed his beliefs and theories regarding the substance of folk rock music. "The folk rock artist is the town crier of music," he explained. "It's music for the heart and soul. You're delivering a message about society."

The songs of Dennis Logan do have something to say with criticisms about how people live and what people may be doing wrong. Watch for his music video for the song, "Whole Things Goin Down," on YouTube.com and other video channels. He just completed shooting it a couple days ago and said it's based on the movie, NETWORK. Thanks to his financial support and publicity team of Eileen Koch, he intends to move up the entertainment ladder very quickly in 2008.

Coyote apologizes for SonicBids.com not authorizing the Shaolin Records ADVERTISEMENT FOR FOLK ROCK BANDS. As a result of not running the Shaolin Records ad at SonicBids, this fourth podcast broadcast radio show will feature another album written by Coyote, COYOTE RADIO TUJUNGA.

This Episode 4 of the Folk Rock Podcast features two songs from THE HIPPY COYOTE OF AMERICAN ZEN performing live. Coyote explains how some of his Kung Fu brothers who are record producers, offered to help complete the Christ Killer album and or the COYOTE RADIO TUJUNGA live album by The Coyote. With no help from either producer, Richard Connor completed the LEVEL 2 = CHRIST KILLER cd on his new iMac G5.

Although Richard had built and designed MASTERING LABS, such as Future Disc, MCA, Universal Studios..., Richard had never mastered a record before. Richard learned ProTools LE 7.1, Bias Peak 5.2 cd authoring software, Isotope Ozone 3 mastering software, Photoshop CS2, and Quark Xpress 7.1 for the CD cover graphics.

This LIVE ALBUM was compiled from LIVE RECORDINGS of Coyote in Tujunga during rehearsals and cable television live performances.
